Here are details on this unique version of the Sailor King Profit:
As with every other Classic Pens model, extensive time was spent on every design element resulting in a truly distinctive version of the Sailor King Profit that won't be mistaken for any other. This is a 5 mm longer version of this top of the line pen. Starting with a great pen from Sailor, that competes with the best from any other pen maker, and adding the unique cachet of Andreas Lambrou's design experience with Classic Pens will make this a winner and a desired collectible.
Many Classic Pens models have actually increased in value since they were produced, a rarity in the pen business. The distinct flame red acrylic is complimented with a rich gold plated trim and the space blue is complimented with rhodium plated trim and nib.
The Edition size is just 50 pens in each of six planned finishes. Duets are available with matching LE numbers. The flame red and space blue material is a diffusion bonded acrylic exclusive to Classic Pens. The special process creates an extremely durable and stable pen material that provides a lifetime of use and enjoyment.
The fountain pen uses a converter/cartridge system. They are fitted with superb 21k solid gold Sailor nibs.
These are slightly flexible and write with a silky smooth feel and are available in Medium, Broad and the exclusive Sailor Nagahara Cross Point nib, shown below.
LB5 Kouseki and Midorigi Limited Edition (2013)
Following the successful launch of its LB5 King Profit Kaen (violent flames) in Flame Red and Tensui (raindrops) in Space Blue this year, Classic Pens strengthens its range of diffusion bonded acrylics with novel, ground breaking finishes, for its LB5 launches in 2014.
LB5 Kouseki and Midorigi Fountain Pen (2013) US $1,600
LB5 Kouseki and Midorigi Fountain Pen (2013) with Sailor Nagahara Cross Point nib US $1,950
The new finishes Kouseki (metal ore) in Diamond Brown and Midorigi (new green trees) in Forest Green, have a pre-determined pattern to harmonize and enhance the Sailor King Profit. Classic Pens worked with two key companies to create them: Sintetica, specialist in the production of cast acrylics, and Carville, the world leader in the precision machining of acrylics, which are diffusion bonded to eliminate stress and impart long term stability to the material, and resulting end product.
Tairiku (continent) in Amethyst Mauve and Marble White follow.
The novel materials are exclusive to Classic Pens. Their cost can be more than 50 times that of regular acrylics, but apart from their extreme stability, their distinctive pattern and vibrant lustre, convey with intense immediacy the beauty of the LB5 King Profit fountain pens.
LB5 Complete Collection
The complete collection of LB5 pens will include, as shown left to right above: Tensui (raindrops) in Space Blue with gold plate trim, Tairiku (continent) in Marble White, Midorigi (new green trees) in Forest Green, Kaen (violent flames) in Flame Red, Kouseki (metal ore) in Diamond Brown, Tairiku (continent) in Amethyst Mauve, and Tensui (raindrops) in Space Blue with rhodium plate trim.

My husband and I first entered the world of pen shows as curious consumers in 2009 in Washington, DC.....At that time we owned one beloved Targa fountain pen....This Targa started our journey into what has become a delightful and diverse collection of varied pen brands, plus on-going relationships with awe-inspiring nibmeisters, traders and vendors.
My experiences with Classic Pens,Inc. evolved throughout the next few years of pen shows....an acquantanceship with, and awareness of, Andy Lambrou's comprehensive published pen books, leading to the 2013 Washington, D.C. Pen Show, when I came upon the beautiful red Kaen (violent flames) LB5 on his table. This pen immediately captured my interest and imagination. I held it .... found myself enthralled with the pen's cultural roots and wanted to learn more. This was my first experience writing with a Sailor nib... I bonded with and attached quickly to this pen. It went home with me and earned a prominent place ........ in my carry-pen-case. On any sunny morning this pen just "glows" as the rays shine through the window. The Japanese nib in Kaen has never failed me....Even when I haven't written with the pen for a while......due to using my later acquired LB5 pens instead, it has never clogged or skipped......I have had no issues with the size of the pen for hand comfort and find it beautifully balanced.....I am a person who derives great pleasure from having a "story" associated with each of my pens; thus, these LB5 pens convey a friendly warmth when I use them; not just a transaction made. This red Kaen launched a great ongoing cherished relationship with Andy and his Company.....both my husband and I purchased two LB5 Midorigi (new green trees) pens, both with Nagahara Cross Point nibs....as expected, these nibs are exquisitely handcrafted and are great for signatures, signage and art, .....My first two LB5 pens proved so outstanding, that I could not miss the opportunity to acquire ...a most elegant, classy looking third LB5 for me, the Tairiku (continent) in white marble.....with a B nib. Thus, my LB5 Collection fully addresses all desired line widths and paper characteristics for projects I undertake without any issues.....all three of my LB5 pens are distinctive beautiful smooth writers, easy to hold and write with for extended periods. I would purchase all three again without hesitation. These pens are not vintage, but they, and their creator, are fast becoming treasured friends that last.

My LB5 is one of my favorite pens, it writes beautifully. I love the big nib and large pen size. It is always inked so I can use it, the Sailor nib is one of the very best nibs I have ever used. Just a beautiful pen that delivers a wonderful writing experience. To use it is to love it.

It all began with the Kaen and Tensui, which are magnificent writing instruments! From there, the attraction grew as more colors were imagined and added to the LB5 line. The size, the colors, the finishes, the nib selection and the writing pleasure I experience with these pens exceed that of any other pen in my expansive collection. I now proudly own and enjoy a complete edition of 7 variously colored and nibbed LB5 pens, plus an extra Kaen, just because. A magnificent obsession? Yes, but founded upon the recognition and genuine appreciation of what are truly exceptional pens, which I use daily with immense satisfaction.
